Job Overview:
A luxury restaurant in Saudi Arabia, specializing in refined Asian cuisine, is seeking a Sous Chef to support its culinary leadership. The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, and brings solid expertise in Asian cooking techniques. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-calibre kitchen team in an upscale, concept-driven dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of service and food preparation
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and disciplined work environment
- Support the development and evolution of innovative menus rooted in authentic Asian flavours
- Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and portion control in alignment with the restaurant’s luxury positioning
- Monitor kitchen inventory, supplier coordination, and cost controls to ensure efficiency
- Enforce rigorous hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times
- Act as second-in-command, stepping in for the Head Chef when required
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure an exceptional guest dining experience
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a luxury or fine-dining Asian restaurant
- Proficiency in one or more Asian cuisines (e.g. Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean)
- Culinary diploma or equivalent professional training preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Energetic and hands-on with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
- Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia; previous international experience is an advantage
