Job Summary:

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet functions in the hotel. This role ensures that events are executed efficiently and professionally, meeting both guest expectations and hotel standards. The supervisor manages banquet staff, coordinates with other departments, and ensures a seamless event experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Operations:

  • Supervise the setup of banquet rooms according to event function sheets (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, equipment, and decorations.

  • Oversee food and beverage service during events, ensuring timely delivery and professional presentation.

  • Ensure that the event space is clean, organized, and safe at all times.

Staff Supervision:

  • Direct and manage banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff before, during, and after events.

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities based on event requirements and staffing levels.

  • Train, mentor, and support staff to deliver excellent guest service.

  • Monitor staff performance and enforce service standards and grooming guidelines.

Guest Service:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during events for clients and guests.

  • Address and resolve any service-related issues or guest concerns quickly and professionally.

  • Ensure special requests and VIP guest needs are handled appropriately.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Coordinate with the kitchen, stewarding, front office, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure that event requirements are understood and met.

  • Participate in pre-event meetings and post-event reviews.

Inventory & Equipment:

  • Oversee the proper use and care of banquet equipment and supplies.

  • Ensure banquet inventory (linens, tableware, furniture, AV equipment) is maintained and report any damage or shortages.

  • Monitor and manage stock levels of service items.
