Our client, a historic Stellenbosch wine estate known for regenerative farming, heritage preservation, luxury hospitality, and culinary excellence is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at a wine estate renowned for its commitment to sustainability, terroir-driven cuisine, and farm-to-table philosophy. 
An individual with sound knowledge of using state-of-the-art cooking techniques, a strong culinary background, excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, and the ability to manage the preparation and execution of high-quality menus. Someone that is forward thinking, resourceful with a stable track record. 
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to a culinary program and aligned with our estate’s broader vision of excellence. Working closely with the Executive Chef and Head Chef, the chef de partie will play a critical role in executing refined, seasonal menus that reflect our agricultural rhythms and pair with our estate-produced wines. 
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Pastry Chef de Partie to take ownership of a section in our kitchens, working with the finest seasonal produce and contributing to a menu that tells a story of terroir, tradition, and innovation. The ideal candidate will be able to function in the savoury / hot kitchens as well.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge, Skills and Qualities:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar establishment, high-end hospitality setting as a chef de partie
  • Qualification in professional cookery is essential in all sections of the kitchen
  • Ensure adequacy of mise en place
  • Put effort into optimizing cooking process, with attention to speed and quality
  • Consistency and smooth operations 
  • Assist other kitchen staff as needed, teamwork.
  • Stay current on restaurants and industry trends.
  • Own transport and valid driver's license will be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Stable track record
  • Candidates already residing in the local vicinity of the winelands region will receive preference
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to adapt to shifting dynamics.
  • Warm, polished, and guest-focused demeanor, punctual and able to communicate with confidence.
