A renowned 5-star game lodge is looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join their culinary team. This live-in role offers the opportunity to work in a world-class kitchen surrounded by the beauty of the bush, creating elegant and innovative desserts for discerning local and international guests.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and present high-end plated desserts, pastries, breads, and tea-time treats
Curate bespoke dessert menus for fine dining, bush dinners, and special occasions
Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and taste
Maintain high hygiene and stock control standards in the pastry section
Collaborate with the Head Chef on seasonal menus and guest preferences
Mentor and train junior kitchen team members when required
🔹 Requirements:
Formal pastry/culinary qualification
Minimum 3 years experience in a luxury lodge, 5-star hotel, or fine dining restaurant
Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
Able to work independently and adapt to a remote lodge lifestyle
Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work flexible hours in line with guest needs
