Description

Delivering fine dining service to the Loxahatchee Membership and guests in multiple venues and private functions. Providing informative wine service including updating member wine lockers, and the club wine list. Assisting the bar staff for the set up and break down of all dining outlets, including preparation for upcoming events. Sommelier will act as bartender on all needed occasions. Sommelier will make suggestions on by the glass wine offerings and by the bottle wines that would enhance the club wine portfolio. He/she will inform the Director of Food and Beverage on any member comments about the wine offerings.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  High School graduate with prior sommelier experience required.  Prior Food & Beverage service/bartender experience required.  Knowledgeable and experienced in fine dining/Club atmosphere preferred.  A working knowledge of Jonas or other similar point of sale terminal systems necessary.  Microsoft Office proficient helpful. Established relationships with local vendors and partners is helpful.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Acts as bartender for all F&B outlets and off-site events.  Prepares bars, ensure they are stocked and ready to go before service. Prepares and serves cocktails and other alcoholic beverages to members and guests. Take orders, serve requested food and drinks, clear bar and charge members/guests accounts accurately.
  2. Acts as liaison between members, the club and beverage suppliers and distributors.  Assists with maintaining Club wine lists and Wine Lockers. Assists with ordering beverage products.
  3. Promotes and executes special beverage offerings through the HOA wine program and creates unique dining & beverages experiences throughout the club and members’ homes.
  4. Ensuring cleanliness/sanitation of the bar, stations organized and well stocked.
  5. Stocking and informing the Director of F&B for the items necessary for proper food & beverage service including but not limited to linens, glassware, utensils, wine, spirits, beers, condiments, etc.
  6. Maintains knowledge of all pricing and promotions.  Recommends new programs, items and practices based on Member feedback and comments.
  7. Keep record of daily spoil/spill logs for all beverage items loss.
  8. Maintains sanitation certification and follow all safety procedures.
  9. Effectively and efficiently communicate all member/guest questions and/or complaints to Management.   

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to lift up to 50 lbs floor to waist and overhead without assistance and able to assist other team members in lifting items >50 lbs.  
  2. Able to stand, walk and work long hours between rest periods.
  3. Able to reach, bend, climb, grasp, kneel, push, pull, and twist as needed.
  4. Must speak, read and write English in a clear and concise manner.
