Job Responsibilities:
Taste and monitor the wine products served throughout the operation, provide feedback where appropriate.
Work closely with other Outlet Managers in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
Monitor wine service and Food & Beverage standards in the Outlet. Work with the Outlet Managers to take corrective actions where necessary.
Frequently verify that only quality wines are used in Food & Beverage Department.
Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all Food & Beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and upsell alternatives. Develop new techniques of service towards maximum guest satisfaction at minimum operating costs
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Wine Budget for Food & Beverage
Evaluate local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations constantly to make sure that the wine selection remain competitive and cutting edge.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience as Sommelier in luxury hotel or restaurant environment
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food & Beverage management or related field preferred
Possess WSET Level 3 Wine or Court of Master Sommelier Certified Sommelier
Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin
Possess knowledge in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Must be willing to learn and be groomed towards fulfilling the role
