Job Summary:
The Civil Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction and civil works related to the development or renovation of hotel properties. This includes managing on-site civil construction activities, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with design specifications, timelines, and safety standards. The Civil Supervisor ensures that all construction tasks related to civil works are completed to the highest quality and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Civil Construction Activities
- Oversee and supervise all civil construction activities on-site, including excavation, foundation works, structural works, masonry, and concrete pouring.
- Ensure that the construction team follows the approved construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications provided by architects and engineers.
- Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors and workers, ensuring it meets the required standards and specifications.
- Site Management and Coordination
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the construction site, coordinating tasks and ensuring proper allocation of resources.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, labourers, and other site personnel to ensure efficient progress of civil works.
- Ensure that all required materials and equipment are available and ready for use to avoid any work delays.
- Work closely with the project manager to plan and execute the project according to the schedule and budget.
- Quality Control and Assurance
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all civil works are being performed to the highest standards and in compliance with project specifications.
- Check that materials and workmanship meet the quality standards and the building codes.
- Identify and address any issues related to construction quality, ensuring corrections are made promptly.
- Document and report any defects or issues and follow up on their resolution.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Enforce safety regulations and best practices on-site, ensuring that all personnel follow proper safety procedures.
- Monitor the safety of construction workers and ensure the worksite is free of hazards, providing a safe working environment.
- Ensure that the project complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Ensure that all construction processes comply with hotel brand standards and industry best practices.
- Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Track the progress of civil works and provide regular updates to the project manager on timelines, delays, and challenges.
- Keep records of daily site activities, including the number of workers on-site, work completed, and materials used.
- Provide feedback to the project manager regarding any potential delays or issues that might impact the overall project schedule.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to management, detailing key milestones and project status.
- Problem Solving and Issue Resolution
- Identify potential issues that may arise during construction, including delays, quality concerns, or design discrepancies.
- Provide quick and practical solutions to resolve issues while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the project team to make any necessary design adjustments or work modifications to address site-specific challenges.
- Coordination with Other Departments
- Coordinate with other teams such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, interior designers, and architects to ensure that civil works align with the overall project design.
- Ensure that civil work does not interfere with other areas of construction and that work progresses smoothly in line with the broader project schedule.
- Final Inspection and Handover
- Conduct final inspections of completed civil works and ensure that they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Prepare punch lists for any final corrections or adjustments required before handing over the civil works to the project manager for completion.
- Assist in the final handover of the hotel construction site once civil works are complete.
