Job Overview:
Our client, a prestigious luxury catering company in Saudi Arabia, is looking for an expert Chef de Cuisine – Mediterranean Specialty to lead and execute authentic, high-end Mediterranean cuisine for large-scale VIP events and bespoke catering experiences. The ideal candidate will bring a deep knowledge of Mediterranean flavours, regional techniques, and premium ingredient sourcing, while managing a dedicated culinary team to deliver refined, flavour-driven dishes with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Mediterranean kitchen section, overseeing the preparation, execution, and presentation of high-quality dishes across various events
- Design and implement menus rooted in authentic Mediterranean cuisine, spanning Southern European, Levantine, and North African influences
- Ensure excellence in taste, presentation, and portion control across all Mediterranean dishes
- Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering discipline, consistency, and skill development within the team
- Work closely with the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef to align culinary direction with overall event concepts and client expectations
- Uphold strict kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols in line with HACCP standards
- Monitor ingredient quality, control food costs, and manage inventory for the Mediterranean kitchen section
- Innovate and update menu offerings regularly, balancing authenticity with evolving guest preferences and luxury trends
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Prven culinary experience with a strong focus on Mediterranean cuisine, including in a leadership role
- Proven expertise in executing Mediterranean menus in high-end catering, luxury hospitality, or fine dining settings
- In-depth knowledge of traditional techniques, flavour profiles, and plating styles specific to the Mediterranean region
- Strong kitchen leadership, time management, and communication skills
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- Experience working with VIP clientele or in Gulf countries is an asset
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus
