The Grove, Pizza Cucina & Wine Bar in Hobe Sound, FL is looking for one sommelier/ wine steward/ server to join our 17 person strong team. We are located on 8815 Se Bridge Road. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and a hard-working team player looking to have fun in a family run environment, and increasing their wine knowledge & learning from one of the top wine professionals in the country.
Job Summary
Serves food and wine to patrons in a dining establishment.
General Accountabilities
- Sells and serves wine and food to patrons in a dining establishment.
- Presents wine list and menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and wine pairings.
- Takes customer orders by writing them down or memorizing them.
- Properly serves guest wine choices.
- Presents orders to the cooks on behalf of the patrons via POS system.
- Serves customers their pre-ordered food.
- Observes diners to respond to any additional wine needs and fills, requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier.
- Clears or resets table at the end of each course.
- Thanks patrons and kindly invites them back for future dining.

Job Qualifications
- Minimum One Wine Certification
- Education: AA Degree or higher.
- Experience: At least one years' experience in upscale wine/restaurant industry or equivalent.

- Assists guests with wine and menu selection as needed; makes recommendations based on guests’ preferences, tastes, and entrée selection.
- Educates staff on wine and food pairings; coordinates periodic wine tastings for wait staff.
- Opens and serves wine to guests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
