Job Title: 

Sommelier

A three-Michelin-star restaurant in Singapore is seeking a Sommelier to assist in curating and serving a wine program of the highest standard.

Housed within a beautifully restored heritage shophouse in the heart of Singapore, this restaurant offers a multi-level dining experience that blends Nordic craftsmanship with Asian flavours. As a Sommelier, you will be an integral part of the service team, ensuring every pairing, pour, and presentation reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence.

About the Role:

You will support the Head Sommelier and Beverage Director in all aspects of the wine program, from service and guest engagement to inventory support and cellar management. You will assist in guiding guests through memorable wine experiences and contribute to maintaining the world-class standards.

What Were Looking For:

Wine Expertise

  • Professional experience as a sommelier or wine service role in Michelin-starred, fine dining, or luxury hospitality environments.
  • Solid knowledge of global wine regions, producers, and vintages, with technical proficiency in wine service.

Teamwork & Learning

  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow under mentorship from the Head Sommelier.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with service staff and kitchen teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Guest-Focused Professionalism

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage guests with insightful wine recommendations.
  • Confidence in handling special requests and VIP guests with discretion and grace.

Operational Support

  • Familiarity with wine inventory management, cellar maintenance, and supplier coordination.
  • Understanding of service standards, alcohol regulations, and hygiene compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in curating and managing the restaurants wine list and cellar inventory.
  • Serve wine with precision, knowledge, and care, enhancing each course of the tasting menu.
  • Support the Head Sommelier in designing and executing wine pairings.
  • Engage guests, providing recommendations and storytelling to enhance the dining experience.
  • Maintain proper storage, rotation, and handling of wines, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the service team and kitchen on seamless execution of beverage service.
  • Participate in wine tastings, training, and supplier interactions to stay current on trends.
