The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious Member-owned private golf club located on Sanibel Island, FL is looking for an experienced Full-time Seasonal Pastry Chef to join our team now through May 2026.

SCHEDULE: Full-time, flexible hours are required. Must work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating, preparing and presenting baked goods, puddings, gelatins, frozen desserts, stewed and baked fruits, pies, cakes, pastries, icings, custards, fondants, and fillings used in desserts; decorating special pastry
  • Overseeing pastry cart and buffet dessert table setup and presentation
  • Ensuring highest professional food quality and presentation
  • Maintaining sanitation and safety standards at all times
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef 
Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of a two-year course at culinary school preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in pastry functions, preferably in a club setting
  • Demonstrated pastry and dessert decorating skills
  • Creativity, an artistic eye and attention to detail required
  • Able to efficiently and safely use kitchen equipment including but not limited to: large-capacity mixer, ovens, food processors, and other commercial equipment and tools
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, utilize good time management and have patience under pressure
  • Must work collaboratively alongside the Executive Chef to help develop a cohesive dining experience
  • Food Safety Certification required
  • Flexible full-time schedule; days, nights, weekends and holidays required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Working with and exposure to industrial equipment including heat, flame, cold storage and similar kitchen-related hazards
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Work in hot, humid, noisy and fast-paced environment
