Area Support Chef- Devon and Somerset
We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring kitchen
professional to help shape the future of food in our managed house pubs.
As an Area Support Chef, you’ll play a vital role in
supporting our pubs to deliver consistently brilliant food by championing
quality, safety, team development, and operational excellence.
This is a hands on, field based role where you'll work
closely with kitchen teams and the wider operations team to ensure our pubs
have the skills, confidence, and capability to deliver our food proposition to
the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry
out Food Quality & Kitchen Audits at least four times a year per site,
producing detailed reports, action plans, and follow-ups using guest
feedback where relevant
- Deliver
GP stock visits to support underperforming sites, offering practical
solutions and finance planning where needed
- Partner
with Operations Managers to embed a strong food culture and ensure teams
are trained, confident, and capable of delivering our managed house food
offer
- Provide
regular coaching, feedback, and support to Head Chefs and kitchen teams,
acting as a trusted expert and motivator
- Lead
external audit follow up visits for any site scoring below 80%, delivering
targeted coaching to raise standards
- Host
and support Chef Skills Academy sessions including Steak School, Fish
School, and specialist skills days
- Play
an active role in food shows and support the delivery of chef forums
throughout the year
About You
- A
seasoned Head Chef from a managed pub background
- Strong
understanding of food safety, kitchen audits, and GP management
- A confident
coach and mentor with the ability to build trust and influence at all
levels
- Naturally
collaborative, with great communication and relationship building skills
- Passionate
about food and team development, with a sharp eye for quality and
consistency
- Organised,
adaptable, and able to self motivate in a field based role
- Based in, and able to travel throughout the Devon and Somerset area
