Description

The Embassy Suites Hotel Brier Creek is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our talented team!

We are seeking an energetic individual who is career driven, with a positive approach to hospitality.  In this role, you will assist in the execution and leadership of our restaurant outlets.

As the ideal candidate, you will:

  • Have previous food and beverage leadership experience in a hotel operation 
  • Have proven success of consistently executing a high-quality service in a professional atmosphere
  • Have a detail-oriented approach to your work, with a passion for mentoring and developing a team
  • Have a well-rounded background in various restaurant styles with a keen eye for details and exceptional organizational skills.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage all outlet operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Monitor and assess product and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue
  • Ensure team members have current knowledge of outlet offerings, products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events
  • Recruit, interview and train team members

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired, but not essential.
  2. Previous related experience preferred.

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  1. Ability to read & write in English, perform mathematical computations such as adding, multiplying.
  2. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, utilizing tact and diplomacy when necessary.
  3. Ability to carry objects on a tray without breaking or spilling.
  4. Ability to follow directions accurately.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.  The employee is required to be on feet for large portion of the day/shift.  The employee is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel tools or controls; must be able to lift and /or move heavy objects including tables and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead.
  2. Must be able to sustain constant mental and visual attention.
