Restaurant Manager – Luxury Hotel – Cape Town

Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 (Negotiable, dependent on experience)

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a professional and experienced Restaurant Manager to join the team of a prestigious luxury hotel in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the hotel's renowned steakhouse restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability

  • Oversee staff performance, training, and development

  • Prepare reports on staff control, food control, and sales

  • Maintain high standards of service, food quality, and health and safety

  • Manage stock takes for food, beverage, and operational items

  • Ensure adherence to company uniform standards

  • Meet and greet guests and manage table reservations

  • Maintain guest satisfaction by providing attentive service and resolving complaints

  • Liaise with guests in a confident and courteous manner, both in person and over the phone

Requirements:

  • Minimum Matric or equivalent qualification

  • Previous restaurant management experience is essential

  • Strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Experience with Pilot software is advantageous

  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans; additional South African languages or an international language are a plus

  • Basic accounting knowledge

  • Own transport is essential

  • Contactable references required

  • Must be of sober and honest habits

  • Willing to undergo a polygraph test if required

  • Professional, well-presented, and able to work under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude
