Join our team in Aman Kyoto.  Set in a secret garden at the heart of a forest, Aman Kyoto rests a stone’s throw from Kyoto’s golden Kinkaku-ji Temple and 16 other Unesco World Heritage Sites. The resort is nonetheless a secluded world apart, with light-filled suites and pavilions set in tranquil glades and its steaming private onsen offering healing in the Aman Spa. 

Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Restaurant Manager to join the team at Aman Kyoto, in Kyoto. Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage , to oversee the operations of the restaurant department on a daily basis while maintaining the structure and well-being of the department by controlling payroll costs, supply budges, forecasting, quality and staffing guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations.
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors.
  • Organize and supervise shifts.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Manage restaurant's good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events.
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads).
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Team for strategy for promotions and events to guarantee the best exposure for the outlet.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.

Requirements

  • Verbal and written proficiency in English and Japanese

  • Minimum 2 years as Assistant Manager of an outlet in an international luxury hotel
  • Computer knowledge, ability to work long hours
