Role
We are seeking a Sommelier to join Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah. Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, you will curate and elevate our wine programme, recommend pairings, and deliver a refined and personalised service to our guests. This role requires both expertise and curiosity, with a strong ability to communicate knowledge in a warm and approachable way.
Responsibilities
· Curate and update the wine list in coordination with the Director of Food and Beverage and chefs.
· Recommend thoughtful food and wine pairings to guests.
· Engage with guests in the dining room, offering expert guidance on wine selection.
· Ensure proper storage, service, and presentation of wines.
· Conduct monthly inventory of all alcoholic beverages and manage procurement in line with Utah state regulations.
· Train and support the service team in wine knowledge and bottle service.
· Support beverage education for colleagues across wine, cocktails, beer, tea, and coffee.
· Drive wine and beverage sales through creative programming and guest engagement.
· Reconcile invoices and maintain accurate beverage records.
· Oversee Food and Beverage operations in the absence of the Director of Food and Beverage.
Requirements
· Minimum one year of experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role.
· Strong knowledge of global wine regions, producers, and vintages.
· Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings.
· Familiarity with wine service standards, storage, and procurement processes.
· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
· Ability to carry loads up to 45 lbs and work indoors and outdoors in varied climates.
· TIPS and ServSafe certification required.
· Multilingual skills are an advantage.
