Salary: 10LPA-12LPA

 

Experience:

·        10 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, with at least minimum 5 years ‘must experience from Snacks/Chips & Namkeen category.

·        Experience in managing Sales Teams in Snacks and Namkeens, preferably with a focus on regional or national distribution networks.

·        Proven track record of achieving regional sales targets and driving business growth.

Role Overview:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration across the assigned region. With a focus on Snacks and Namkeens, the RSM will manage a team of sales professionals, build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail chains, and ensure effective execution of sales strategies.

The RSM will be key to ensuring the brand's presence and visibility while overseeing regional sales targets and maintaining consistent profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Ø Sales Strategy Implementation:

·        Develop and execute the regional sales strategy for Snacks and Namkeens, ensuring alignment with national objectives.

·        Identify growth opportunities within the region and recommend strategies to tap into untapped markets or product segments.

·        Forecast sales volume and revenue based on market insights and historical data.

 

Ø Team Leadership and Development:

·        Lead, train, and manage a team of Area Sales Managers, Sales Executives, and Field Sales Teams.

·        Set clear goals for sales team members and monitor performance to ensure the achievement of sales targets.

·        Foster a culture of motivation, accountability, and performance excellence within the team.

 

Ø Relationship Management:

·        Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners.

·        Negotiate terms with major accounts and maintain strong communication channels with stakeholders.

·        Resolve any regional sales-related issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.

 

 

Ø Market Analysis and Reporting:

·        Continuously analyse regional market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to provide actionable insights.

·        Monitor stock levels at distribution points and ensure the availability of products in the market.

·        Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and market trends.

 

Ø Promotions and Visibility:

·        Drive in-store promotions, consumer sampling, and point-of-sale (POS) activities to increase brand visibility and sales

·        Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure effective promotional campaigns are rolled out in the region.

 

Ø Budget and Expense Management:

·        Monitor and manage the regional sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum ROI.

·        Control expenses related to travel, sales promotions, and sales activities within the region.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in sales analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to use data for decision-making.
  • In-depth understanding of regional market dynamics, retail networks, and distribution systems.
  • High level of adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
