About The Role: 

The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for managing their assigned section in the kitchen – preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality standard food within the pastry department.   

 

 

What You Will Do 

  • Prepare, bake, and present high-quality pastry items including desserts, breads, tarts, cakes, and plated sweets to meet the restaurant’s standards. 

  • Assist in the development, testing, and refinement of pastry recipes and seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with the Pastry Chef. 

  • Lead and mentor assigned pastry team members, ensuring consistent execution and attention to detail. 

  • Ensure that all pastry production is completed efficiently and on schedule, with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing product yield. 

  • Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, communicating restocking needs promptly to management to avoid shortages. 

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards of the pastry kitchen, adhering to all health and hygiene regulations. 

  • Operate and care for specialized pastry equipment including mixers, proofers, chocolate tempering machines, and ovens. 

  • Support Pastry Chef in training junior staff and enforcing kitchen standards, portion control, and preparation guidelines. 

  • Uphold the quality and presentation standards for all pastry items served in the venue. 

  • Collaborate with the broader culinary team when needed for special events or high-volume service. 

  • Flexibly manage scheduling to accommodate the needs of the business, including holidays, weekends, and evenings. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Pastry Chef or Executive Chef. 

 

About You: 

  • Degree or certification from an accredited culinary or pastry arts program . 

  • Minimum of 3 years of pastry experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, full-service kitchen. 

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in classic and modern pastry techniques, including laminated doughs, tempering chocolate, custards, and decorative plating. 

  • Strong working knowledge of baking science, pastry equipment, and ingredient functionality. 

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; capable of maintaining focus and precision under pressure. 

  • Ability to read and follow complex recipes and plating instructions. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail in taste, texture, and presentation. 

  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and motivate pastry team members. 

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. 

  • Passion for innovation in dessert presentation and flavor profiles. 

  • Flexible and dependable with a strong work ethic and a team-first attitude. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.  

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.  

  • Climbing steps regularly. 

 

 

 

Compensation range: $24 $28
