Job Type: Full-Time Hourly

Rate: $24 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries and other sweets. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing recipes. The ideal candidate will be familiar in culinary arts and have a passion for sweet, delicious creations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, gourmet desserts by following traditional and modern      recipes
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Check quality of materials and the condition of equipment and devices used for baking
  • Monitor, analyze and control food costs, meet productions schedules and ensure budgets are met while maintaining product      quality and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly baking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements

  Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume environment
  • Possessing great attention to detail and creativity
  • Having organizational and leadership skills
  • Owning the experience and passion to create delicious, attractive results that are pleasing to our customers for weddings and events 
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge, including ensuring all health code and regulations are met
  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
  • Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoid wasting food
  • Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways
  • Helpful to have a two (2) or four (4) year accredited Culinary School Degree
  • Hours may vary in accordance with the needs of planned events as there are times when high volume numbers must be met.
