Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the bakery, ensuring all products meet quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed, and managing waste to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Determine the daily production lists for banquets by reading the BEO’s.
  • Prepare all bakery related food items for banquets, restaurant outlets, and catered events.
  • Supervise and schedule bakery staff, assigning tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
  • Keep the bakery kitchen clean, organized, and in a sanitary condition.
  • Assist in keeping food cost under control by limiting overproduction and waste.
  • Maintains bakery equipment in good working order and prepares maintenance work orders for broken equipment.
  • Keeps records of all banquet and holiday special events for future use and production requirements.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Culinary graduate or related baking/pastry experience of at least 3-5 years.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including fluctuating hours, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Occasionally one will need to climb, kneel and/or crawl and balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 

The position is indoors; and is exposed to hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend most of the time on their feet standing/walking.
