About the role:

As a key member of the culinary brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality desserts that elevate the overall guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, bake, and decorate a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, tarts, and breads to a consistently high standard.
  • Innovate and contribute to the development of new dessert and pastry menu items in line with seasonal trends and guest preferences.
  • Ensure all pastry items are prepared in accordance with recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor quality and freshness of all ingredients and finished products.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
  • Manage pastry inventory, including ordering supplies, rotating stock, and minimising wastage.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior pastry staff or kitchen assistants as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service and coordination.
  • Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Uphold company values and contribute to a positive and professional team environment.

 

About you:

You are a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef with a strong eye for detail, a creative flair, and a genuine love for your craft. You take pride in producing high-quality desserts and baked goods and are constantly seeking ways to innovate and improve. You work well under pressure, thrive in a team environment, and bring a positive and professional attitude to everything you do.

 

You will also bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar Pastry Chef role (ideally 2+ years)
  • Formal qualifications in Patisserie or Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher preferred)
  • Strong understanding of classic and modern pastry techniques
  • A creative approach to menu design and plating
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP knowledge desirable)
  • The ability to work flexibly, including weekends, early mornings, or evenings as required
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge with the team
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights
