Position Overview
As the Head Chef - Chinese, you will play a key role in leading our culinary team, responsible for crafting authentic Chinese dishes that reflect our commitment to quality and innovation. Your culinary expertise will help in enhancing our dining experience and establishing Al Ghalia as a premier destination for Chinese cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design a diverse Chinese menu that emphasizes authenticity and quality.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Oversee kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food preparation and handling.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain food quality while managing expenses.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure excellent customer service and dining experience.
- Continuously innovate recipes and techniques to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure the best ingredients are sourced.
- Conduct regular kitchen meetings to communicate goals and share feedback effectively.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Desired Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in menu development and cost control.
- Background in training and mentoring kitchen staff.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience with multi-cultural culinary styles is a plus.
