Introduction

A large dynamic, family-oriented eatery is seeking self-managed and experienced General Manager to manage the full operations of a large sit-down food outlet in Hartbeespoort. The successful candidate will have to have solid experience as well as sound knowledge of restaurant operations including finance, people, product, and customer.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management of the opening and closing daily company procedures
  • Monitoring the daily sales, customer averages ext.
  • Setting daily targets
  • Motivating staff to the reach the set-out targets and budgets
  • Management of the daily operations, take correct action where necessary
  • Make sure that all standards and quality are 100 % adhered too
  • Stock management and stock delivers management
  • Setting up of new procedures
  • Investigation of all stock shortages
  • Produce a daily production plan
  • Adhoc administrative requirements
  • Correct stock rotation procures to be followed
  • Management of equipment and shop maintenance
  • Adhering to all health and safety requirements
  • Assist in creating yearly budgets
  • Budget control
  • Management of banking procedures
  • Monthly / weekly GP% and food cost calculations
  • Management of customer relations, including dealing with customer complaints
  • Management of all related staff members
  • Assisting in the recruitment process when necessary
  • Management of your team’s monthly payroll and hours

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric (please don’t apply if you don’t have a completed matric)
  • Must be South African with a valid ID book
  • 5 - 6 years solid hospitality general management experience in large operations
  • Sound knowledge of the full restaurant operations
  • Proven track record and contactable references
  • Must have a vehicle and drivers licence
  • Must reside in the area or be willing to relocate
  • Must have great organisation skills
  • Hospitality qualification advantageous
  • Setting up of systems in a new restaurant will be advantageous
  • Previous events management in a restaurant advantageous
  • Setting up of cocktail menu advantageous

Negotiable based on experience and ability
