Description

North Oaks Golf Club is looking for a passionate and dynamic leader to join our Food & Beverage team. At North Oaks Golf Club, you will be supported by a team of other department leaders in growing and directing a successful front-of-house operation and team. In this position you will be trained and developed to manage our food & beverage operation while becoming more familiar with our membership.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

Our Dining and Service Manager handles daily operations in main dining and play a key role in member experience for all club-related functions. This position works closely with other dining managers, front of the house staff, back of house staff, and catering department, to build upon the success of our dining experience at NOGC.

Daily Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties  

  • Ensure members and guests experience exceptional hospitality and professionalism while dining at our club
  • Train, lead, coach, develop, and support our service team, bartenders and banquet staff.
  • Maintain high visibility and accessibility to the membership and guests during peak times and welcome all individuals to our club with a smile
  • Look for ways to go improve hospitality, going above and beyond for members and guests
  • Monitor the quality of service, prompt delivery, and ensure quality is delivered to each table of our dining areas and aid our serving team where needed
  • Assist with preparation, set-up, execution and breakdown of banquets and events
  • Share opening and closing operational duties with management team
  • Prepare daily closing reports
  • Serve as primary connection between members and staff. Work proactively to resolve issues that may arise on the floor and supply prompt follow-up to all inquiries
  • Work closely with the entire food and beverage staff by sharing suggestions and creative ideas and always lend a helping hand to create the highest level of member service
  • Maintain a clean working environment and ensure our staff meets these standards
     

Administrative and Miscellaneous

  • Attend weekly executive management team meetings
  • Assist with special training meetings for servers, bartenders, and banquet staff
  • Make necessary employee payroll time punch updates and adjustments
  • Maintain working POS, APP maintenance, proper pricing and updated menus, formatting practices, plus all on-boarding and training manuals
  • Perform other tasks and initiatives assigned by the General Manager or Food and Beverage Director

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understand and consistently practice true hospitality and professionalism
  • Two plus years’ experience in private club industry is preferred
  • High level of food and beverage knowledge
  • Enthusiastic and friendly leader, willing to exceed member and guest expectations
  • Resilient and capable of dealing with difficult members, guests and staff interactions.
  • Highly skilled at multi-tasking and getting things done in a calm, efficient and effective   manner both independently and with our team
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Take-charge attitude, self-starter and highly service oriented
  • Consistently project a professional self image
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to generate productive relationships with members and fellow staff
  • Proficient in various software programs like Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Reliable transportation

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Capable of standing and working on your feet for extended periods of time with the ability walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and stretch.
  • Willing to work indoors and out where cold, hot, humid, and noisy conditions exist.
  • Ability to push, pull, and carry small objects up to 40 pounds.
