JOB PURPOSE
Overseeing and managing the procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to meet the operational needs of business and new projects.
Developing strategic relationships with key vendors, negotiating appropriate credit periods, establishing efficient supply chains to optimize inventory levels and procure in the most cost effective manner
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Initiatives
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the organization’s objectives and goals.
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations and negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and new procurement methodologies including use of technology
Procurement Process Excellence
- Oversee the procurement budget including project related procurement and identify opportunities for cost saving and process improvements.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
