COLD KITCHEN CHEF/MANAGER (GARDE MANAGER)
Gauteng, Turffontein
R12 000 - R14 000 CTC
Our client in the catering industry is seeking a skilled Cold Kitchen Chef to join their team in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Minimum requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) essential
Reliable transport to and from work
Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts with a minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in cold kitchen operations
Proven expertise in cold food preparation including salads, charcuterie, c, hors d’œuvres, sushi, and buffet items
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, storage standards, and HACCP principles
Skilled in menu development, recipe formulation, and yield guide management
Ability to manage inventory, control stock levels, and maintain par stocks
Leadership and training ability – capable of supervising kitchen staff and mentoring junior team members
Excellent organizational and communication skills for collaboration with chefs, service, and procurement teams
Flexible to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
Physically fit – able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
