Kitchen Manager

Your Role and Impact
We are seeking aâ¯strong, hands-on leaderâ¯to serve as ourâ¯Kitchen Manager, responsible for driving excellence across all aspects of fresh food production and packaging operations. This role requires an individual who is not only culinary-savvy but also confident inâ¯leading teams, supervising kitchen staff, and partnering closely with leadershipâ¯to execute a high-quality, compliance-driven, and visually appealing fresh food program.
What You Will Do
- Provideâ¯strong daily leadership and supervisionâ¯across all commissary operations includingâ¯menu development, prep, cooking, packaging, and labeling.
- Support and partner with theâ¯Food Service Directorâ¯on team oversight, production planning, and program development, stepping in as a leader when needed.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and performance-driven kitchen culture byâ¯mentoring, coaching, and guiding team members.
- Ensure completeâ¯compliance in food safety, proper food handling, and adherence to build specs across all fresh food items.
- Lead and continuously improve aâ¯high-quality grab-n-go program, emphasizing freshness, shelf life, visual presentation, and smart production timing.
- Accurately forecast and buildâ¯daily sales parsâ¯to reduce waste and avoid stockouts while ensuring food remains fresh and appealing.
- Overseeâ¯ordering, inventory, and kitchen organizationâ¯with a balance of quality control and cost management.
- Develop and executeâ¯clear production schedulesâ¯that optimize team efficiency, timelines, and workflow.
- Manage and quality-check theâ¯packaging and labeling process, ensuring consistency, food safety, and consumer appeal.
- Select and adapt meals to suit packaging constraints, prioritizingâ¯presentation, portioning, and freshness.
- Own all commissary kitchen systems includingâ¯cleanliness, equipment care, food safety documentation, and training protocols.
- Demonstrateâ¯high-touch, daily leadership presence, being actively involved in operations and always available to guide, assist, and problem-solve with the team.
- Beâ¯patient, adaptable, and supportive, able to pivot quickly and calmly as production or operational needs shift.
- Proactivelyâ¯resolve production or logistical challengesâ¯with minimal oversight while maintaining open lines of communication.
- Maintain clear and consistent reporting to theâ¯District Manager, providing updates, challenges, and production forecasts.
- Lead with accountability and integrity while ensuring the team is motivated, efficient, and aligned with goals and standards.
What You Will Need
- 5+ years of culinary experience, preferably inâ¯production, catering or commissary settings.
- Strong supervisory background, with the ability toâ¯train, direct, and motivate teamsâ¯toward excellence.
- Deep understanding ofâ¯food safety, labeling regulations, and compliance procedures.
- Effective communicator and collaborator with a team-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability toâ¯lead in fast-paced environmentsâ¯with shifting priorities.

Salary Range: $90,000–$95,000 annually + potential 5% Bonus based on performance.
