Introduction

A well-established and reputable hospitality operation based in Louis Trichardt is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie / Pastry Chef to join their culinary team. This role is ideal for a creative professional who takes pride in high-quality food preparation, presentation, and consistency while maintaining excellent hygiene and safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, present, and serve food promptly in line with agreed company standards

  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in compliance with statutory and company policies

  • Ensure food production remains within budget, with strict control of raw materials and waste

  • Present dishes attractively and consistently to enhance customer appeal

  • Adhere to all health and safety legislation, ensuring the safety of colleagues and customers

  • Safeguard all food and beverage stock within the production area

  • Stay up to date with modern culinary techniques and industry advancements

  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, including counter service when required

  • Uphold a professional image at all times, including correct uniform standards

  • Assist with special functions, events, and services outside normal working hours when required

  • Handle customer feedback, complaints, and report incidents such as accidents, losses, or food safety issues

  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and carry out reasonable overtime when needed

  • Train and mentor new team members on kitchen procedures and standards

  • Perform any reasonable tasks as assigned by management

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef

  • Strong pastry section experience is essential

  • Ability to prepare a wide range of baked goods including cakes, breads, pastries, pies, and desserts

  • Experience with both traditional and modern pastry techniques

  • Creative flair to develop new and exciting desserts and menu items

  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
