Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced and skilled Chef de Cuisine to oversee culinary activity in a fast-paced restaurant environment in Philadelphia, PA. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing recipes, and ensuring consistency of product quality in our Philadelphia, PA location.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure high standards of quality and consistency
- Hire, train, develop, and appraise kitchen staff, taking corrective action as necessary
- Develop recipes and portion specifications, participate in menu planning, and determine purchasing specifications
- Work with senior leadership to identify potential issues, plan for events, and drive business growth
- Manage vendor relationships to maximize profits and opportunities
- Oversee back-of-house operations, including food production, sanitation, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with company and board of health standards
- Submit nightly reports on service, sales, labor, and liquor costs
Requirements:
- 5+ years of kitchen management experience in elevated dining
- Prior experience in restaurant openings, menu creation, and coaching/training
- Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and days, exhibit top-notch teamwork, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Restaurant 365, and Toast Scheduling
- Culinary Arts degree preferred
