About the Role:

Juniper is seeking an experienced Casual Chef to support the Catering Centre at Juniper Rowethorpe, delivering catering services across four residential aged care facilities.

This casual role provides essential coverage for planned and unplanned leave, including annual leave and long service leave, helping ensure continuity of high-quality catering services.

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents’ dietary and nutritional needs, while maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards. You will also support and guide kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

This is a casual opportunity, ideal for an experienced Chef seeking flexible work in a large-scale catering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with dietary requirements
• Maintain food safety, infection control, and hygiene standards
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe, and well organised
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
• Support bulk meal production across multiple facilities
• Supervise and provide direction to Kitchen Hands as required
• Comply with Juniper’s Workplace Health and Safety policies

Key Requirements:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef or Cook in a high-volume environment
• Experience in large-scale or production catering (aged care or healthcare preferred)
• Knowledge of dietary and nutritional needs for older adults
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable working across multiple sites when required
• Reliable, flexible, and team-focused
