What does a typical day as Breakfast Chef look like?

You will get in and start preparing and cooking for the breakfast service - this could be cooking off certain breakfast ingredients and keeping them hot in preparation for the orders you will get. Breakfast service starts at 7am on weekdays so you have an hour to 'prep' before guests start coming in. Our breakfasts are high quality, prepared to order and all food is plated by you in the kitchen (no chafing dishes).

The friendly breakfast front of house team will take orders and deliver food and the Kitchen porter will wash up plates, pots and pans, so it is just the cooking that you would need to concentrate on.

Once breakfast service has finished, you'll be involved in prep ready for lunch service, or cooking for our range of events that we hold at the Square. The food style is fine dining, seasonal food, as such we are looking for a certain level of skill with fresh ingredients and high-quality food, ideally at Chef de Partie level.

What skills to you need to be successful as Breakfast Chef?

You'll need to be reliable as you will be opening the kitchen in the morning and will be the first person in. You may be someone who likes routine and is happy starting early and finishing early - enabling you to focus on non-work activities for the rest of the day!

You'll also need to be confident and keep a cool head when things get busy. We do many cooked breakfasts on a daily basis so you'll need to be able to work methodically to ensure each dish goes out perfectly!

Application process:

To apply, please send your CV via the 'apply now' link. The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd August 2025.

Successful applicants will be contacted by a member of the HR team initially to arrange a phone interview. If successful at that stage, you will be invited for a short trial in the kitchen for you to see how it all operates and for us to check your overall skill level.

We reserve the right to close this role before the given deadline in the event a suitable candidate is found.
