Description

Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our high-volume and fast-paced Food and Beverage Operations team as an Assistant Restaurant Manager! Our Assistant Managers consistently deliver high-quality service to our members and their guests in a friendly, professional manner. An ideal candidate has supervisory experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or club environment. They are also passionate about gaining wine & beverage knowledge and are looking to give members and their guests fantastic, personalized service. 

The Grill Restaurant is the go-to spot for members of Farmington Country Club and is a casual sit-down restaurant & bar with a focus on American Bistro style cuisine with a complimenting bar program. The Grill hosts four different dining options – the Bar & Pub, the Dining Room, the Terrace, and the Take-Out. Member expectations often differ between the spaces, although they are still there to enjoy the same great food, elevated drinks, and excellent service. The Grill is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service 7 days a week. 

Operation Hours: 

  • Breakfast 7:30am-11:00am 
  • Lunch 11:00am-2:30pm 
  • Pub Menu & Bar Service 2:30pm-5:00pm 
  • Dinner 5:00pm-9:00pm 

Job Summary: 

Responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Farmington Grill restaurant, to include hiring, training, and supervising service staff; service delivery; maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary restaurant; developing strategies to improve and enhance the dining experience. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Grill and maintain a presence through breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service, to Farmington standards of quality 
  • Anticipate members’ and guests’ needs and take appropriate action to deliver consistently high-quality customer service 
  • Ensure service consistency 
  • Monitor time and attendance policy using Paycom 
  • Assist the Grill Manager in developing annual department and individual goals and take responsibility for their achievement 
  • Assist in developing service training programs and materials 
  • Conduct periodic staff performance reviews and goals development 
  • Ensure that the Grill restaurant is clean, safe, and sanitary at all times 
  • Participate in meetings with Grill culinary staff, Grill service managers and Grill staff 
  • Promote teamwork with the Grill culinary staff, Grill service managers and Grill staff 
  • Ensure the proper completion of daily walkthroughs and checklists 
  • Effective communication with members and co-workers 
  • Assist in developing and implementing employee incentive programs that create teamwork and achievement of goals 
  • Serve as an active member on the Club’s Safety Committee 
  • Play an active role in menu change procedures, member communications, Point of Sale system oversight, requisitions, and sending of daily reports through outlook, excel, word and other systems specific to the club 
  • Cross-train in other Food and Beverage departments 

Expectations

  • To effectively manage a shift and maintain high service standards, paying close attention to detail. 
  • Develop a rapport with the membership and address them by name. 
  • Be proficient with the daily administration of the Grill, and complete assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely manner. 
  • Develop strong communication skills with your fellow managers, service staff and culinary staff. 
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic during the shift while maintaining a professional work environment. 
  • Develop your team for your assigned meal period, one that works together and uses effective communication. 
  • Be a leader and set the standards that you would like your team to follow. 
  • Be creative with your pre-shift meetings and develop incentive programs that will promote teamwork and improve revenue. 
  • Be a team member, not an individual

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will meet most, if not all, of the following qualifications:

 

  • A minimum of two (2) years of similar supervisory experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or club environment 
  • Working knowledge of beverage operations and wine service 
  • College degree in Hospitality Management or Business a plus 
  • Ability to obtain TIPS trainer certification (training will be provided) 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team and provide exceptional service to members and guests 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-paced environment 
  • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours consecutively 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
