As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will supervise and ensure DCL's service standards are met or exceeded in the assigned section of your dining room. You will identify dissatisfied guests and perform Guest Service Recovery. You will lead your team of servers to achieve their sales goals through salesmanship and suggestive selling techniques.
You will report to the Restaurant Manager
This is a SHIPBOARD role.

You must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
**Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
- Minimum two years experience as a Head Server / Supervisor in a fast paced high volume restaurant
- Previous experience supervising a multi-national team of 15-20 team members
- Good knowledge of food and beverage trends
- Proficient wine knowledge and food and wine pairing knowledge
- Proficient with POS systems
- Ship experience preferred
- Manage and deliver all Guest special requests and dietary needs within their section of Dining Room
- Actively work to achieve higher service standards including identifying unsatisfied Guests and performing Guest service recovery as needed
- Ensure that there are sufficient supplies of restaurant stores and equipment, and conduct periodic inventories and inspections
- Supervise and ensure service standards in assigned section/restaurant
- Manage all meal periods with the same dedication and focus in all F&B venues
- Build an open, inclusive work environment by displaying Disney Cruise Line leadership in every day decisions and actions
- Improve Crew moral and capacity to deal with high Guest volume and changing external circumstances
- Manage and deliver all Guest special requests, celebrations, dietary needs, allergy requests within section
- Ensure show readiness of Dining Rooms at all times- in terms of cleanliness and maintenance
- Ensure all service related working procedures are in compliance with USPH standards and lead inspection team with Dining Manager
- Inspect the Restaurant prior to opening and closing to ensure compliance with Disney Cruise Line and USPH standards
- Periodically review sanitation discrepancies and improvements in the restaurant
- Ensure Dining team follow SMS procedures in all areas of the operation i.e. safety related and allergy procedures
- Monitor breakage, designated inventories
- Oversee the maintenance of furniture equipment and uniforms
- Support the success of all crew including the training of new hires
- Identify areas of accident prevention and relevant training
- Monitor that all crew are following USPH procedures in the dining room and galleys
