Job Overview:
Our client, a prestigious luxury catering group in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a talented Assistant Pastry Chef to support large-scale corporate and contract catering operations, including services for banks, offices, B2B events, and institutional clients such as the army. The role requires a strong background in catering or banqueting operations and the ability to deliver consistent quality and creativity within high-volume pastry production. The successful candidate will assist the Pastry Executive Sous-Chef in managing pastry operations, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and excellence in every product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Pastry Executive Sous-Chef in overseeing pastry production for corporate catering, large-scale events, and VIP functions.
- Supervise day-to-day pastry operations, ensuring smooth workflow, consistent quality, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist in leading, mentoring, and motivating a diverse pastry team to maintain productivity and skill development.
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe standardization, and the creation of innovative yet practical pastry items suitable for large-scale catering.
- Monitor production efficiency, portion control, and ingredient usage to optimize cost management and minimize waste.
- Ensure all pastry products meet high presentation and quality standards, aligned with luxury brand expectations.
- Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely supply of raw materials and effective stock management.
- Uphold strict HACCP and food safety protocols across all pastry operations.
- Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure smooth coordination for large-volume deliveries and catering events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as Assistant Pastry Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Senior Pastry Chef in luxury hotels, large-scale catering, or banqueting environments.
- Strong background in catering or contract catering operations (corporate, B2B, institutional, or government sectors).
- Valid KSA driver’s license.
- Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or equivalent certification.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of international pastry trends, production methods, and quality standards.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Commitment to hygiene, food safety, and operational excellence.
- Creative mindset with the flexibility to adapt recipes and presentations to large-scale production.
