Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell?

To prepare meals during the three main meals and sometimes for mid-afternoon snacks. The purpose of this position is to provide kitchen service that meets the demands of our guests. Work procedures are based on a master book that provides established recipes, processes, and presentation methods. Promote environmental initiatives and contribute to maintaining focus and direction in line with the efforts of the Aqua Expeditions team towards environmental conservation and social responsibility. 

Your passion is:

• Provide assistance to the Cook.
• Follow the rules and procedures outlined in the Food Master Book. 
• Assist in providing food services: breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests onboard the ship.
• Prepare meals for the onboard crew on the Aqua Mekong.
• Request ingredient requirements.
• Adhere to GMP and perform deep cleaning of the kitchen, tableware, utensils, workstations, and floor.
• Assist in the entry of all products onto the ship, according to passenger requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain close coordination and communication with the entire team.
• Assist in the provisioning process.
• Follow instructions provided by the Head Chef. 
• Participate in guest welcome and farewell activities which are mandatory. 

What are we looking for?

• STCW Basic Safety Training Certificate. 
• Any relevant hospitality certificates or experience. 
• +2 years of cooking experience in upscale restaurant or hotel. 
• Good English communication skill. 
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints.
• knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. 
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Customer Service capabilities, able to deal with a variety of clients, and strong multi-tasking skills. 
• Attention to detail and ability to plan.
