Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership

  • Support the Executive Chef in managing all back-of-house operations including food preparation, execution, and kitchen sanitation.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of Asian menus, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and innovation.
  • Assist with menu development and tastings for the hotel restaurant, private events, and banquets.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet luxury and brand standards at all times.
  • Act as a role model for culinary standards and workplace professionalism.

Team Development & Operations

  • Train and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and stewards on Asian techniques and kitchen safety.
  • Foster a collaborative and disciplined kitchen environment aligned with hotel culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety codes, including proper storage, rotation, and sanitation.
  • Assist in scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations of kitchen staff.
  • Help manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for assigned food areas.

Guest Experience & Event Support

  • Ensure food is consistently delivered with timeliness, accuracy, and artistry.
  • Support private dining and banquet events with custom Chinese cuisine offerings.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and banquet teams to ensure seamless service for VIP guests and special events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Asian Chef in upscale or luxury dining environments.
  • Formal culinary training preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience working in multicultural, high-volume kitchens.
  • Excellent knife skills, time management, and food safety knowledge.
  • Ability to lead by example with calm and focus under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
