A reputable hotel in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team.

Salary: R15 000 CTC per month
Location: Southern Suburbs, Cape Town
Availability: ASAP


Key Requirements:

  • Strong Hot Kitchen experience (essential)
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
  • Ability to lead and supervise kitchen staff
  • Sound knowledge of kitchen operations, stock control, and food cost management
  • Excellent understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have reliable transport to and from the Southern Suburbs area
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef
  • Ensure high-quality preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes
  • Assist with menu planning, stock control, and ordering
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and organisational standards
  • Train, guide, and support junior kitchen staff
  • Step in and manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
