Sommelier

Does listening to and advising others come naturally to you? We're looking for a Server/Sommelier who really enjoys taking care of people. This energetic person offers attentive service and knows how to greet a guest as if he or she were a member of the family, making them feel truly welcome. This role places a strong emphasis on elevating the wine and beverage experience, blending such with a genuine passion for hospitality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

• Be on the lookout for guests' needs to offer them a unique experience: know and understand the menu so you can inform them or make recommendations
• Deliver expert tableside wine service and personalized food and wine pairing recommendations
• Participate in the management of the wine program, including curation of the wine list and cellar management
• Support with the organization of wine tastings, pairing dinners, and other special beverage events
• Help set up, open and close the bar
• Take orders and serve all food and beverages
• Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests throughout the service
• Ensure that the working environment and equipment are always clean, disinfected and well organized
• Comply with current laws and regulations regarding alcohol

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Formal wine education/certification (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to increase guest satisfaction and beverage sales
• Minimum 2-3 years of restaurant service experience in a fine dining or hospitality setting
• Excellent stress and pressure management skills
• Sociable and team player
