Private ROTA Chef – Asian Cuisine (Focus on Chinese & Dumplings)
We’re seeking a talented private chef with deep roots in Asian cuisine, with a particular emphasis on Chinese home-style cooking and dumpling making. The ideal candidate is someone who grew up with these culinary traditions and brings a sense of authenticity and pride to every dish. This role is perfect for a chef who is warm, kid-friendly, organized, and excited to cook for a small, appreciative household.
Prepare daily family-style buffet lunches (12:00 PM) and dinners (5:30 PM) for a household of three, including a young child. Meals should be nourishing, comforting, and reflect traditional Asian flavors, with a strong focus on Chinese cuisine and dumplings.
Follow a provided household menu while bringing your personal touch and flexibility to accommodate seasonal ingredients or family preferences.
Occasionally prepare meals for small gatherings and guests in either Menlo Park or Santa Cruz.
Maintain a clean, well-organized kitchen space and follow appropriate food safety standards.
Shop for or source fresh, high-quality ingredients (with household support as needed).
Travel between Menlo Park and Santa Cruz as part of your every-other-week rotation.
A chef with a deep cultural and/or personal connection to Asian cooking, particularly Chinese cuisine.
Someone who is warm, kid-friendly, and professional—able to cook for a family in a relaxed but respectful home setting.
Experience working in private homes, fine dining, or similar high-expectation environments.
Comfortable and familiar with high-profile households and discretion/security protocols.
Able to travel to Menlo Park, CA, with housing provided during work weeks. Open to candidates flying in from other locations within the U.S.
Meals are casual, family-style—not plated service.
Schedule is every other Thursday through the following Thursday.
Engagement is on a 1099 contractor basis; no benefits are provided with this role.
