we’re now looking for a talented and motivated Pastry Sous Chef to
support our pastry operation and help lead our kitchen team.

What you’ll be doing
- Supporting
the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, with
a focus on pastry
- Preparing
and producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods
- Ensuring
recipes and specifications are followed
- Overseeing
presentation so every dessert leaves the kitchen looking its best
- Maintaining
excellent food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Managing
stock control in the pastry section, including ordering, labelling,
rotation, and minimising waste
- Training,
coaching, and supporting junior members of the kitchen team
- Helping
to develop new dessert dishes, specials, and seasonal menu items
- Leading
the pastry section during service when required
- Contributing
to a calm, professional, and efficient kitchen environment
What we’re looking for
- Previous
experience in a pastry role within a professional kitchen (Sous Chef or
strong Chef de Partie level)
- A
genuine passion for baking, desserts, and high-quality ingredients
- Excellent
attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Strong
organisational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- A
positive, can-do attitude and strong team ethic
- Desire
to learn, develop, and progress within the kitchen
- Flexible
approach to working hours and service demands
- Reliability
and a professional approach at all times

The Seafood Restaurant was the first restaurant opened by Rick Stein and Jill Stein in 1975. The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow is famous for establishing an international reputation for the very freshest fish and shellfish, often landed on our doorstep. In the centre of the restaurant is a Seafood Bar where guests can enjoy watching chefs assembling platters of oysters, langoustines and sashimi.
