Responsibilities:

• Create a variety of desserts, pastries, and confections while ensuring the highest quality and presentation.
• Collaborate with the head chef to develop new dessert menus and seasonal items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory and order supplies for the pastry kitchen as needed.
• Supervise and train pastry kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in pastry techniques.
• Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance offerings and improve overall menu variety.
• Monitor and control food costs and waste to ensure budget adherence.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging pastry techniques to incorporate into offerings.

Essential Qualifications:

• Completion of a culinary program with a focus on pastry arts.
• Strong understanding of baking techniques and pastry principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and management.

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a pastry chef in a fine dining or upscale hotel setting.
• Proven track record of creating high-quality pastries and desserts.
• Experience managing a team in a kitchen environment is preferred.
