About the Role
We are looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join the kitchen team at a renowned luxury country estate in North Yorkshire. This stunning estate features a relaxed restaurant with rooms and a fine dining restaurant, both focused on exceptional dining experiences. With an emphasis on sustainability, the estate sources fresh, seasonal produce from its own gardens and orchards, creating the perfect environment for culinary innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present high-quality pastry items for both dining venues.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop seasonal menus, bringing fresh ideas and creativity.
Ensure stock control is managed efficiently, working to company targets.
Maintain and enforce high standards of food hygiene, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and guidelines.
Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring that the kitchen operates to the highest standards.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to help them grow and develop.
Consistently maintain a high standard of food quality and presentation.
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pastry Chef in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Strong grasp of stock control and working to company targets.
A passion for patisserie with a creative flair and the ability to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Experience working with fresh, garden-grown produce.
A can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
A genuine passion for maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in pastry production.
