Southall is a premier destination where nature, produce, and people come together in a powerful and unique way. This winter season, Southall is excited to launch a Pop-Up Food Truck on property, featuring Joyland burgers and fries.
We are seeking a talented Line Cook to join our culinary team and play an integral role in this exciting new venture. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with the seasons of Middle Tennessee, creating product-driven culinary offerings that celebrate the incredible produce grown right here on the property.
The Line Cook will be responsible for producing high-quality food within the food truck, working closely with the Events Team and the Event Center, which will serve as home base for the operation. As a representative of Southall�s culinary excellence, this individual will embody professionalism, teamwork, and respect across all departments.
The food truck will operate Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The position will follow a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts.
Prepare all food according to standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques.
Maintain proper storage, labeling, and portion control of all products to ensure the highest quality standards.
Stock and set up kitchen stations according to specifications.
Ensure all operations are clean, sanitary, and organized, and that all products are received, stored, and handled properly.
Maintain all equipment in proper working condition and cleanliness.
Assist with food preparation assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Exhibit professionalism, teamwork, and respect for both products and colleagues, maintaining a positive attitude even during high-volume or challenging times.
Minimum of 1 year of kitchen experience.
Excellent time management, organization, and active listening skills.
Prior opening experience preferred but not required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; ability to read recipes and complete requisitions.
Conversational Spanish preferred but not required.
Culinary degree preferred but not required.
Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Must have strong manual dexterity and the ability to perform detailed, repetitive hand movements consistently and efficiently.
