Position: Line Cook

Location: (KLETC) Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center Banquet Hall (Hutchinson, KS)

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at the Law Enforcement Training Center. This position supports daily service and special event menus, helping prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes and chef specifications.

While previous kitchen experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate—someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, love of cooking and a willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Executive Chef and follow kitchen leadership directives.
     
  • Ensure the prep stations are clean, organized, and fully stocked at the start of each shift.
     
  • Prepare components of menu items: chop vegetables, portion proteins, prepare sauces, etc.
     
  • Cook and plate dishes according to established standards and presentation guidelines.
     
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures in food handling and storage.
     
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning, leftover storage, and general maintenance tasks.
     
  • Support inventory tracking and restocking as needed.
     
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow and high-quality service.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure.
     
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
     
  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to contribute to a high-functioning culinary environment.
     
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings for special events.
     
  • Commitment to upholding food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

Physical requirements:

  • Continuous walking and other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day
