Assistant In-Room Dining (IRD) Manager


We are seeking an Assistant IRD Manager to support the In-Room Dining Manager in the day-to-day operation of the room service department, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on team supervision, guest satisfaction, service consistency, and departmental efficiency in a luxury environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the entire IRD operation, including order-taking, preparation coordination, delivery, and clearance.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate IRD staff to deliver exceptional 5-star guest service.
  • Ensure that orders are delivered accurately and on time, following proper service procedures.
  • Handle guest requests, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain standards in food presentation, tray setup, and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen, housekeeping, and front office to ensure smooth service.
  • Oversee mini-bar operations (if applicable), including stock control and billing.
  • Support inventory management, requisitioning, and cost control.
  • Conduct staff briefings, schedule shifts, and ensure team compliance with SOPs.
  • Review guest preferences, special occasions, and VIP needs to deliver personalized service.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and grooming standards.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality or equivalent
  • 2–4 years of F&B experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or IRD role
  • Excellent knowledge of room service operations, guest etiquette, and 5-star standards
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English (other languages are an advantage)
  • Familiarity with POS systems, order-tracking software, and MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance with a guest-focused attitude
  • Flexible with rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
