About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Head Sommelier to join the Pierchic team in Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead the wine program, including selection, purchasing, and management of the full wine inventory.
  • Develop the wine list in collaboration with chefs and management, aligning with concept and guest preferences.
  • Supervise the sommelier team, ensuring consistent service, product knowledge, and professional presentation.
  • Drive revenue through upselling strategies, staff training, and guest engagement.
  • Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and stay updated on market trends and vintages.
  • Conduct training, tastings, and development sessions to enhance team expertise and service confidence.

 

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in the same role with a strong F&B background in a 5-star luxury property or a fine-dining standalone/branded restaurant.
  • Proficient in English and a second language (European languages are desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Micros, and Sevenrooms.
  • Expert in Wine, WSET certification required. 
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
