Chartwells are specialists in providing catering and hospitality services in education. Our goal is to provide engaging and nutritious dining solutions tailored to support academic achievement at the highest levels.

THE POSITION

• Hands on leadership role requiring 90% hands on in the kitchen
• Plan, supervise, and monitor the food production across functions and in house menu-based catering 
• Oversee a large and varied operation boarding hall (6 meals per day, 7 days a week)
• Actively maintain a high standard of food safety, allergen awareness, and OHS
• Lead, develop and inspire a small team of culinary talents
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
• Oversee inventory, procurement, cost control and minimise food wastage

THE PERSON

• Minimum Cert. III Commercial Cookery
• Proven experience leading a culinary team
• Proven experience multitasking and forward planning
• Passionate about food and familiar with using seasonal ingredients to create outstanding and memorable experiences for clients and students
• Experience in leading, mentoring and developing teams
• Extensive knowledge in a wide range of cuisine, batch production cooking, and multi-course plated event service up to 170 PAX
• Working with Children Chef & Police Clearance
