Full Time Sous Chef

Immanuel Communities is seeking a Full time Sous Chef for the Des Moines metro area, to work at Deerfield, located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323. Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites. Schedule for this position varies and requires availability to work breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner shifts to include weekends and holidays, and will be based on the needs of the the community.  NO LATE NIGHTS--EVER!

This position will pay up to $25.00/hour.  Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

What You Will Do

The responsibilities of this job include all types of food preparation, including yet not limited to baking, grilling, stove-top and oven cooking; and cleaning the kitchen. Addtionally may be assigned to oversee progress of kitchen staff abilities, kitchen projects or special events, certain aspects of food preparation in the kitchen, inventory management and oversees the kitchen function when the Team Lead of Food & Nutrition Services is not available. 

Skills & Requirements

Two (2) years of cooking experience above the level of fast food/fast casual is required.

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certifiication required or willing to obtain once hired (company pays for training/certification).
