We are inviting applications for full time and part time Food & Beverage professionals who have knowledge and experience in food service with an eye for detail and takes pride in delivering 5* service to join and enhance our established team in The Stables Brasserie and Bar.

As part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be operating in an exciting, fast-paced quality service outlet. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of the food & beverage management team. This is a great opportunity to grow & develop a career.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure the complete satisfaction of each guest.
  • To be helpful and work in contact with other departments.
  • Ensure restaurant area is always kept clean and tidy.
  • To read, understand and comply with your responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
  • To comply with all reasonable requests by Management.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and behaviour to guests, colleagues, management.
  • Learning restaurant’s table plan
  • Deliver trays to the appropriate station and ensure that the plates are served in a timely manner
  • If on a ‘Commis/Pass’ shift. Ensure the good communication between kitchen and service

Role

  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
  • Inform customers about the day’s specials
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate precisely with Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Deliver checks and collect bill payments
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties, VIP)
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests

Requirements and skills

  • Basic math skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Team spirit
  • Flexibility to work in shifts
  • Punctuality
  • Fluent English 

We have full-time and part-time positions available on rostered basis, which includes weekends and evening shifts.
