Salary: $102,000 – $110,000 + Superannuation
Roster: DIDO (local from Roxby Downs, SA) or FIFO from Adelaide, SA (14:7)

The Role

We are seeking experienced Chef Supervisors and Head Chefs to support the mobilisation and opening of a brand-new remote village in South Australia. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the ground up, helping establish kitchen operations, set standards, and build high-performing teams.

In this leadership role, you will take ownership of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and service delivery. You will play a key role in creating inclusive dining experiences that support people working in one of Australia’s most remote regions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day kitchen operations on a newly established site
  • Support site mobilisation, setup, and transition into steady-state operations
  • Ensure all food production meets HACCP, food safety, and operational standards
  • Mentor, train, and develop culinary teams while fostering an inclusive culture
  • Design menus and meal plans that meet dietary, cultural, and client requirements
  • Maximise stock utilisation, control food costs, and reduce waste
  • Maintain high service standards in a fast-paced FIFO/DIDO environment
  • Work collaboratively with site leadership during the establishment phase

 

About You

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or recognised Trade Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Experience in remote, FIFO, or high-volume operations (highly regarded)
  • Strong menu development and function catering skills
  • Proficient computer skills for reporting, planning, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and National Police Check
  • Resilient, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a new site mobilisation
